About Bajredara Trek

Bajredara is a least popular, beautiful virgin trail in West Sikkim, the amazing destination holds a geographical history and provides an amazing view of Kokthang, Rathong, Frey, Kabru South, Kabru North, Yalungkang, KhanchenDzonga, Kabru Dome, Goecha, Simvo and Pandim. The trail passes through the green jungles, waterfalls and through the Rhododendron and bamboo forests, where the trekkers are amazed at the beauty of green trails. The Bajredara campsites on the meadow top acts like a natural Balcony on the mountain side, where a person is bound to lose himself/herself in the beauty of the KhanchenDzonga. The name Bajredara, Bajre-thunder and in Nepali Language Dara means ridge, together they mean the thunder stricken ridge ,long time ago there was a huge thunder which struck the very campsite of Bajredara, one could see the thunder stricken burnt trees on the campsite and burnt land of the ridge. The amazing campsite leaves the trekkers and mountain lovers spell bounded, the change in colors of the amazing mountains from Blue to Orange, then Golden Yellow to White during the sunrise keeps the travelers amused.  The Offbeat least popular trail of Sikkim can be accessed throughout the year except the monsoon varieties of Rhododendron during it seasonal time that is March April. Winter in Bajredara is a bit challenging for its extreme chilling wind, snow deposit, snowfall, best time for BajreDara is January to April, then end of September to December.
